Welcome to TanStart! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TanStart website and launch asset generation service, operated by Tanfust ("we," "us," or "our"). By using TanStart, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

About TanStart

TanStart is a token-based launch asset workbench that helps developers, indie hackers, and freelancers generate everything their app needs to go live. From branding and icons to OG images, legal documents, device mockups, SEO metadata, copywriting, and launch readiness scoring — all in one workspace with token-based pricing.

Definitions

  • Service refers to the TanStart website and tools available at tanstart.app
  • User, You, or Your refers to the person or entity using TanStart
  • Generated Assets means icons, OG images, legal documents, device mockups, copywriting, meta reports, and other non-code launch materials created using the Service
  • Account refers to a registered user account for accessing the Service
  • Tokens means the unit of currency used to access asset generation features
  • AI-Generated Content means assets produced with assistance from artificial intelligence models

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TanStart, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Use of Service

Permitted Use

You may use TanStart to:

  • Generate branding assets (favicons, app icons, color palettes, social profile images)
  • Generate OG images and social cards
  • Generate legal documents (privacy policies, terms of service, cookie policies)
  • Generate device mockups and app store screenshots
  • Generate SEO metadata, landing page copy, and app store descriptions
  • Run launch readiness audits and meta tag validations
  • Download and use generated assets in your own projects, for personal or commercial purposes
  • Self-host generated legal documents on your own website

Prohibited Use

You may NOT use TanStart to:

  • Generate illegal, harmful, or misleading content
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service itself (generated assets may be used freely)
  • Circumvent rate limits, access restrictions, or token limits
  • Use automated means to generate tokens or bypass payment
  • Use the Service for fraudulent purposes
  • Abuse AI features to generate harmful, deceptive, or infringing content
  • Misrepresent AI-generated legal documents as professionally certified or as legal advice

Account Terms

Account Creation

  • An account is required to use TanStart (free and paid features)
  • You may authenticate via email/password or OAuth providers through Supabase Auth
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • One account per person; sharing accounts is not permitted

Account Termination

  • You may close your account at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms
  • Upon termination, your remaining token balance is forfeited and non-refundable
  • Previously downloaded assets remain yours
  • Un-downloaded generated assets may be deleted upon account closure

Tokens and Billing

Free Tokens

  • New accounts receive free tokens to get started
  • Free tokens do not expire
  • Free tokens are non-transferable and non-refundable

Token Purchases

  • Tokens are purchased in one-time packs via Stripe
  • Current token pack pricing is displayed on our pricing page
  • Purchased tokens do not expire
  • Tokens are non-transferable between accounts
  • All purchases are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your payment card details are handled directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's terms
  • All prices are displayed on our website and may be subject to applicable taxes based on your location

Refunds

  • Token purchases are generally non-refundable once tokens have been used
  • For unused token packs, contact support@updates.tanstart.app within 14 days of purchase
  • We reserve the right to grant or deny refund requests at our discretion
  • All refunds are processed via Stripe

Pricing Changes

  • We reserve the right to change token pricing at any time
  • Price changes do not affect previously purchased tokens
  • Changes will be reflected on the pricing page

Content and Ownership

Your Inputs

  • You retain all rights to the inputs you provide (brand names, descriptions, images, URLs)
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use inputs you provide
  • You grant us a limited license to process your inputs solely for the purpose of generating assets

Generated Assets

  • Generated assets are yours to use freely, for personal or commercial purposes
  • We do not claim ownership of your generated assets
  • You may modify, distribute, and sublicense generated assets as you see fit
  • We do not guarantee that generated assets are unique — other users may receive similar outputs

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Some TanStart features use artificial intelligence to generate assets, including icons (via AI image models), legal documents, and copywriting (via large language models).

  • AI-generated content is provided "as-is" and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
  • AI-generated legal documents (privacy policies, terms of service, cookie policies) are NOT legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before use
  • We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from intellectual property claims
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and using AI-generated content appropriately
  • AI model outputs may not be unique; other users may receive similar outputs

Our Content

  • TanStart's design, code, logos, and branding are our intellectual property
  • You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the Service
  • You may not use our trademarks without written permission

Server-Side Processing

TanStart processes your inputs on our servers:

  • Text inputs, uploaded images, and project data are sent to our servers for processing
  • Image generation and manipulation runs on serverless functions
  • AI-powered features send your inputs to third-party AI providers
  • Generated assets are stored on our infrastructure for download and access
  • You are responsible for downloading and backing up your generated assets

Service Availability

No Warranty

TanStart is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Specific uptime or availability
  • Quality, accuracy, or suitability of generated assets
  • That AI-generated content meets your specific requirements

Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
  • Update these Terms at any time
  • Change token pricing with notice
  • Add or remove generation features
  • Modify token costs per feature

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

AI Services Disclaimer

Certain TanStart features depend on third-party AI providers whose availability and behavior we do not control.

  • AI model behavior may change over time, which may affect output quality or style
  • We are not liable for AI-generated content that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs
  • AI-generated legal documents do not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal counsel
  • You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for regulatory compliance

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for how you use generated assets
  • We are not liable for damages from service interruptions or data loss
  • We are not liable for reliance on AI-generated content
  • We are not liable for third-party AI provider outages or changes

Chargebacks and Disputes

If you have any issues with your purchase, please contact us at support@updates.tanstart.app before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to resolving any issues directly and promptly.

Fraudulent chargebacks may result in termination of your account and forfeiture of remaining tokens.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tanfust from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your use of generated assets
  • Your reliance on AI-generated content

Privacy and Data Processing

  • Your use of TanStart is also governed by our Privacy Policy
  • Your inputs are processed on our servers to generate assets
  • AI-powered features may send your inputs to third-party AI providers
  • Account data and project data are stored securely with Supabase
  • Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information

Third-Party Services

TanStart integrates with or plans to integrate the following third-party services:

  • Stripe: Payment processing and fraud detection
  • Supabase: Authentication and data storage
  • Vercel: Hosting and serverless infrastructure
  • PostHog: Product analytics
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery
  • Sentry: Error monitoring and performance
  • Replicate (planned): AI image generation
  • LLM providers (planned): AI text generation
  • Upstash (planned): Rate limiting

We are not responsible for third-party services or content. Third-party terms and privacy policies apply to their respective services.

Intellectual Property Claims

If you believe content on TanStart infringes your intellectual property:

We will investigate and respond to valid claims promptly.

Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and regulations when using TanStart.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

Dispute Resolution

  • We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any issues
  • If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration
  • You waive the right to participate in class-action lawsuits

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Tanfust regarding the Service.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
